Take your emergency medicine skills to the next level with hands-on training on life-saving emergency medicine procedures at the SEMPA Procedures Course.


During this day-and-a-half course, you will engage in procedural education through hands-on training with high-fidelity trainers. There will also be a procedural anatomy demonstration by instructors on human cadavers. Participants will have access to the demonstration cadavers.

Day 1

Rotation Time
Airway (BLS adjuncts/BVM/DL) 8:00 am - 9:00 am
Airway (Rescue Devices/VL) 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Break 10:00 am - 10:15 am
LP (Blind/US) 10:15 am - 11:15 am
Arthrocentesis / IO 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Lunch 12:15 pm - 1:15 pm
Central Lines 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm
Chest Tubes / Needle Decompression 2:15 pm - 3:15 pm
Break 3:15 pm - 3:30 pm
Peritonsillar Abscess / Paracentesis 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Thoracentesis / A line 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Day 2

Rotation Time
Lab time for extra practice and procedural anatomy demonstration by instructors on human cadavers (limited hands-on experience with cadavers) 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
